We’ve just had two inspiring days with Frédéric Berger and Bingkun Lei from the Gregor Mendel Institute in Vienna. A great seminar by Fred on H3K27me3 inheritance in Arabidopsis — so much to learn about epigenetics!

Sometimes we forget just how much pioneering work has been done in plants — and not only in epigenetics. The DET and COP mutants, which I still remember from my undergraduate studies, later turned out to involve the ubiquitin–proteasome system — the very system I ended up studying during my PhD. Quite a remarkable déjà vu!

We’re excited to see where our collaboration with Fred and Bingkun will take us!
