
Joint symposium of the graduate programs Cell2Cell and RTG2355 at JLU Giessen 2024
Together with colleagues in Giessen, Marburg and partner institutions across Europe and beyond, we established the NuQuest consortium investigate the nuclear mechanisms that regulate quiescence and other reversible non-proliferative cellular states. By integrating model systems from yeast to mammals, NuQuest aims to uncover how nuclear organisation, chromatin architecture and RNA metabolism coordinate cellular transitions into and out of quiescence.
Previously, together with Nicolai Siegel (LMU Munich), we coordinated the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Doctoral Network Cell2Cell➦, which united academic and industrial partners across Europe to train doctoral researchers in chromatin biology, pathogen biology, single-cell technologies, bioinformatics, and quantitative approaches.
Our laboratory has also been part of the DFG Collaborative Research Centre SFB 1064 – Chromatin Dynamics➦, investigating the dynamic organisation and regulation of chromatin in development and disease, and contributed to the European Network of Excellence EpiGeneSys➦, which fostered interdisciplinary collaboration and technology development in epigenetics across Europe.
