Farewell party for Scott from Scotland, our very first MSc student!

Scott joined us from Glasgow for his Master’s thesis, working on Rik1 and the question of which ubiquitin substrate it might be targeting. When he wasn’t tackling Rik1, he was known for wearing shorts regardless of the weather, riding his fixie, listening to either jazz or heavy music (Tool!) — nothing in between — and bringing a good dose of humor to pretty much everything. He also documented the university building going up next door in his own creative way, taking one photo every day and eventually turning its construction into a movie.

The lab certainly grew during Scott’s time with us — and, judging from the photo when he first arrived, so did Scott!
